The entertainer in Vijay is peeping out with this action masala entertainer. Vijay is all geared up to entertain his fans months after the success of Kaavalan. Velayutham is about one man’s fight against the system in which Vijay plays the role of a milkman who, secretively, weeds out the pests invading the society.
Not that we have never heard of a story like that but we trust Vijay to deliver it convincingly. And with director Jeyam Raja’s credentials in delivering commercial entertainers, we believe Velayutham is in good hands. Vijay is a village youth and the story traces his rise to the position of a leader in the society.
The posters show Vijay with a hood, in a warrior getup and has already made his fans go weak in their knees. Director Raja says that the movie has a “tailor-made story for Vijay” and expects the story to fare with all sections of his fans.
Genelia and Hansika play Vijay’s leads. While it’s widely rumored that Genilia is calling it quits and Velayutham is her last movie in Tamil owing to her impending wedding with Ritesh, there is no confirmation on that one as yet.
Made in 150 days, Velayutham has two new villains introduced to the Tamil screens. Santhanam is filling in for the role of a comedian with Saranya Mohan playing Vijay’s sister. Other members of the cast include M S Bhaskar, Pandiarajan, Vincent Asokan, Manivannan, Sampath Raj, Ilavarasu and Sayaji Shinde.
Vijay Antony’s music has already made the Chillax a rage among youngsters. Produced by Venu Ravichandran and distributed by Aascar Films and Ayngaran International, Velayutham is releasing across the world on the eve of Diwali.
